About Big Queen Ifátùmínínú
Big Queen Ifátùmínínú of the Beautiful Creole Apache Mardi Gras Indian Tribe was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a third generation educator, an interdisciplinary artist and a culture bearer working in textiles, performance, installation and various art forms.
She lives off and on the continent of Afrika, including Tanzania and Nigeria where she connects with other artists and culture bearers, building and maintaining relationships throughout the Afrikan diaspora. Big Queen Ifátùmínínú also comes from a family of debutantes who hail from the Original Illinois Club, the oldest African American club to host both a Ball and Debutante Cotillion.
